But what if I told you that there was an easier way? What if I told you that it was a better way? Well today’s blog post is about order fulfillment strategies for beginners!

Order fulfillment strategies are one of the best ways to take your business to the next level! After reading this article and applying the different strategies, you will save money on shipping costs and get more sales from existing customers. But first let’s talk about why order fulfillment strategies are important and why they’re better than the quick fixes.

What is Order Fulfillment?

Order fulfillment is the act of fulfilling orders that have already been made. It includes packing, creating shipping labels, and preparing packages for shipping to your customers. There are many benefits to order fulfillment. The main reason that order fulfillment is important is because it creates a steady stream of revenue for your business, and you won’t have to spend thousands of dollars on shipping supplies.

You sell products or services, so it makes sense that you would want to receive the orders that have already been made! If you had not received money from the customers who had already purchased from your website, would you have setup an order fulfillment program? Order fulfillment programs can be used as a way to start growing your business or even replace up selling tactics.

Most of the time, your online business will require that you have a certain number of products before you can start an order fulfillment program. Usually this is because it usually does not make sense to spend money on shipping supplies until you have enough profit coming in from your sales. If you do not have this much profit coming in from your sales, then it would be a good idea for you to hire an expert to do order fulfillment for you.

The concept of order fulfillment can be broken down into three simple steps. They are as follows: (see diagram below)

To understand how order fulfillment works, you will need to understand the shipping process. We will go over the different areas that make up the shipping process. I am going to use the example of a customer ordering from Amazon while we go through this process because it’s easy to understand, and everyone is familiar with how they handle their shipping.

After you have decided that you want to start an order fulfillment program, the first thing you want to do is set up your orders. You can set up your accounts for your different carriers or shipping companies: UPS, FedEx, USPS, and even Google Shopping Express if that is how you are going to fulfill your orders (you will need a shopping cart and the ability to ship internationally). Eventually, it will be beneficial for you to setup all of these accounts.

Once you have these accounts set up, think about which account would be best for what type of product or service that you sell. Here are a couple of examples of what you would want to order for different types of products:

Electronic Devices – USPS First Class. USPS Priority Mail. USPS Priority Mail International for those customers who are outside the US. You can also use FedEx Smartpost for these items as well. For all other types of items that you sell, you can just ship them through your regular shipping carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS).
